Man arrested for cheating luxury lights dealer

JAMMU, Oct 3: Police have arrested a man and recovered lighting material allegedly obtained through cheating from his residence in Vijaypur, Samba district.

Police said the accused, Navdeep Singh, a resident of Vijaypur, was arrested by Police Station Channi Himmat in connection with FIR No. 255/2026 registered under Sections 318(4), 336(3) and 238 of the BNS.

The accused allegedly posed as an authorised representative of Apollo Clinic and used forged J&K Bank payment screenshots to induce the proprietor of Shri Bankey Bihari Luxury Lights to deliver the lighting articles, they said.

During investigation, police traced the material to the accused's residence in Vijaypur and recovered it.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
