JAMMU, Dec 13: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta today directed the State to make available alternate land for the establishment of a cricket stadium within one week.
When the PIL filed by Advocate Dewakar Sharma came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed, “Senior Counsel has received report of BCCI Architect regarding non-suitability of the land for the purpose of establishment of a cricket stadium. He prays for a short adjournment to place the same on record”.
DB further observed, “Senior AAG S S Nanda is unable to give us compliance of the directions made vide order dated 14th November, 2018. He prays for one week’s time to place the compliance before us”.
Accordingly, DB directed that respondents shall positively examine the issue and identify alternate land for the establishment of a cricket stadium. DB further directed respondents to explore the possibility of making more than one suggestion so that the same can be examined by the cricket experts.
