SRINAGAR, July 10: The management of temple of Maa Shri Shiva Bhagwati Asthapan, Akingam today organized a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maa Shri Shiva Bhagwati Asthapan at Akingam village of Kokernag in which thousands of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir Valley and Jammu participated.
Minister for Haj, Auqaf, Floriculture and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed visited the Asthapan and spent some time for seeking the blessings of the revered Bhagwati Goddess. He paid obeisance and prayed for the peace, amity and prosperity for the people of the State and the area.
Interacting with the devotees, the Minister said that Kashmiri Pandits are the integral part of Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without their presence in the Valley. He said that the efforts are afoot to make the atmosphere conducive for their return, hoping that the days are not far when they would return to their native places with peace and dignity.
Peerzada highlighted the spirit of brotherhood and tranquillity of both the communities of the area, saying that they have lived together for centuries through thick and thin. He said it is the composite culture for which the State is known throughout the globe, adding that secret of development of State is also hidden in it.
The Minister announced Rs. 7 lakh for construction of community hall at Asthapan for the convenience of devotees.
The local Muslim brethren of the area also took part in the celebrations and extended every possible help necessary for organizing the function.
