JAMMU, Jan 12: Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda, Northern Army Commander, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Lt. Gen. Hooda briefed the Governor about the current security environment scenario and spoke about the pattern of infiltration attempts and cease fire violations across the International Border and LoC and other developments.
The Governor discussed with General Hooda several issues relating to effective internal security management in the State.
Meanwhile, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of J&K, called on Mr. Vohra. This was the first meeting of Justice Mir after taking over as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court.
The Governor and Chief Justice discussed issues related to the functioning of the sub-ordinate judicial system and the reforms required to be made for ensuring speedy delivery of Justice, reducing the number of pending cases in the courts at all levels and other measures to introduce transparency and speed.
