JAMMU, Feb 15: Lok Adalats were held in Ramban and Nowshera areas wherein a total of 17 cases out of 24 were settled on the spot.
A Lok Adalat was held yesterday in District Court Complex Ramban presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge, MA Chowdhary and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ramban. They were assisted by Munsiff (JMIC) Ramban, Arun Kumar Kotwal.
A total of 12 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat out of which nine cases were settled by meditation and reconciliation.
Another Lok Adalat was held today at Court Complex of Sub Judge, Nowshera under the chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub-Judge), Nowshera, OP Thakur, who was assisted by Advocate Dutta.
Out of the 12 cases taken by the Lok Adalat, 8 cases were decided on the spot.
