UDHAMPUR, Oct 27: Irked over the worst condition of Ballian to Battal road connecting with Dhaar road, locals staged a protest demonstration at village Battal here today.
The protesters raised slogans against Public Works Department (PWD) R&B authorities and district administration.
They said that this road was repaired with drainage system two years back but within two year the road has been totally damaged because there was use of substandard material in its construction.
The protesting locals demanded immediate repair and blacktopping of the road and a high level enquiry into the use of substandard material for the construction of the road.
“The condition of road is very bad and it is not fit for walking over or for plying vehicle and it requires immediate repair and blacktopping,” the protesters maintained.
They urged upon the concerned PWD (R&B) Department and district administration to look into the matter.
Prominent among protesters were Sham Lal Panch, Ved Parkash, Vickey Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Romesh Chander, Bansi Lal Verma, Sham Parkash, Vijay Sharma and others.
