POONCH, Dec 9: Irked over shortage of basic amenities as well as shelving of road project, residents of Dunugham panchayat of Mandi today staged a protest demonstration and also met National Conference leader Ajaz Jan in Mandi town.
These villagers annoyed over shortage of amenities, especially power and water and shelving of a major road project, the work on which has been stalled since 2014, people protested at Mandi and blocked main road for some time.
Protesting people led by Ex -Sarpanch Bashir Naik and Gulla Bhatt later met the NC leader and former MLA Ajaz Jan and put forth their grievances demanding immediate restarting of road work and smooth power as well as water supply.
Jan put forth these issues before Deputy Commissioner Poonch raising strong concern over the grievances of public and demanding their immediate redressal.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch then sent a team of concerned officers to the area for spot examination for redressing the matter.
