JAMMU, Sept 27: Leh police today seized and destroyed about 500 litres of desi liquor (lahan) during raids conducted at various places in Leh town.
The raids were conducted in different parts of Leh town on the reports that some persons were engaged in the illegal trade of making desi liquor. Police parties seized the liquor and destroyed them on spot.
Police parties also seized illegally stored liquor bottles of Rum, Beer and Whisky etc.
Raids were conducted by Leh police parties led by SHO Leh Inspector Anayatullah and Incharge Police Post Colony Sub Inspector Mehraj under the supervision of SSP Leh Sunil Gupta.
A case has been registered at Leh police station under the Excise Act.
