License of Daily Food Product suspended for unhygienic manufacture

JAMMU, July 27: A team from Food and Drugs Administration led by Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Food Safety here today inspected some manufacturing units.
At manufacturing unit of M/S Daily Food Products, the team found that manufacture of pickle, sauces and vinegar was being carried out in violations of conditions of the license.
Also there were unhygienic and insanitary conditions at the unit and even a dead rat along with mud was found there.
The license of the firm was suspended by the inspecting team till further order and a challan for manufacturing the food articles under unsanitary and unhygienic condition was recommended which shall be produced before the Court of Adjudicating Officer, Jammu soon.
Also a sample of pickles was lifted and sent to the lab for analysis.
Apart from this, Mark Food Products, the manufacturer of Frozen Desserts & Ice Candy was also inspected and booked under Section 56 of FSS Act for indulging in manufacturing of food products under unhygienic and unsanitary condition. A sample of frozen dessert was also taken for analysis.
Ajit Singh, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Vijay Verma and Bharat Bhushan, Food Safety Officers were also part of inspecting team.
