LG delegates powers up to Rs 10 lakh to ACPs

JAMMU, Aug 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today delegated financial powers to accord administrative approval in favour of Rural Development Department to the extent of up to Rs 10 lakh.

"The delegation of powers to AC (Panchayats) shall be confined to works implemented under the schemes assigned to them. However, the delegation shall not, by itself, entail any additional financial liability on the Government or be construed as authorization for creation of posts or sanction of funds beyond the approved budgetary allocations, an official order issued by the Finance Department, said.

It said the administrative approvals shall be accorded strictly within the approved scheme guidelines, delegated financial powers and availability of budget.

"All other provisions governing technical sanction, financial sanction, tendering, procurement, execution of works, and financial discipline shall continue to apply,'' the order read.
