LG assured to take up issues of Ladakhi women with MHA: ARWW

LEH, June 7: All Religious Women Wings (ARWW) today said that they take up their issues with LG Ladakh Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retired), who assured to form a committee in this regard.
Addressing a joint press conference, leaders of All Religious Women Wings said that they had put forward 17 points to LG Ladakh regarding the welfare of Ladakhi women to which the LG assured to form a committee and take up the matter with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) since Ladakh is a UT without Legislature.
They said the important issues that were taken up with the LG include setting up a women shelter, extending property right to Buddhist women which was scrapped after the implementation of Buddhist Succession Act 2019 and 33% reservation in Hill Council seat for women.
The women leaders expressed hope that their issues will be taken up seriously by the LG administration and redressal of the same will be done soon.
