Lecturers’ Forum highlights demands

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 4: An emergent meeting of All J&K Plus Two Lecturers’ Forum  was held through teleconferencing under the chairmanship of its President Deepak Sharma wherein the forum demanded  placement of lecturers as senior lecturers  in  School Education  Department immediately   as per 1/3rd Quota strength  pending since December 2013.
The Forum also demanded regularisation of Physical Education Lecturers (PELs) and removal of their pay anomaly/disparity.
Sharma said that 10+2 cadre has suffered a lot in the absence of Running Grade/Time Bound Promotion and they have to wait for about 20 long years for next promotion as Principal with a meagre enhancement of Rs 200 in grade pay (pre- revised) and only consolation in between was their placement as senior lecturer with two advance increments as per SRO 481, adding it was quite unfortunate that no  list of senior lecturers  has been released since December 2013 causing a considerable financial loss to those due for the same.
He further said that combined seniority list of lecturers was released vide Govt Order No: 1073-Edu of 2013 dated 30-12-2013 and voiced concern that when 1512 senior lecturers were placed from the same list vide no1074-Edu of 2013 dated 30-12-2013 and more than 100 Principals have already been promoted out of the same list, what stopped the Govt from further placement of senior lecturers negating the narrative that litigations were becoming stumbling block.
Forum demanded immediate release of list of senior lecturers thereby considering inclusion of all those dropped due to one or other reason from the seniority list.
Forum further hoped that practical shape will soon be given to Running Grade/ Time Bound Promotion and Induction Quota into KAS in favour of Plus Two Lecturers as promised by Principal Secretary Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon.
Others who participated in teleconferencing were NS Jamwal, RS Slathia, Dr Sushma, Anil Sharma, Anwar Khan, Sanjay Bhagat, Pradeep Singh, Ashok Sharma, Jatinder Sethi, Fazal Hussain, Anis Ahmed, Imtiaz Qazmi, AR Giri and Ramesh Thakur.
