SRINAGAR: Close on the heels of busting of a Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM) module, security forces achieved yet another success and arrested a Lahker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant in central Kashmir district of Badgam.
The arrest of LeT militant and busting of HuM module ahead of the Republic Day is being considered a major success to foil any militant attempt to cause disturbances. Official sources said on a tip-off, security forces raided an orchard at Chadoora in the central Kashmir district of Badgam and arrested a LeT militant Basharat Ahmad Shah alongwith one AK rifles, two magazines and a hand grenade.
On January 23 security forces arrested an active militant of HuM Ishfaq Ahmad alongwith four associates from apple township of Sopore and recovered arms and ammunition. The militants were planning to attack security forces on Srinagar-Baramulla road. (agencies)
