Addressing a press conference, LAB leaders alleged that the police had opened fire without any lawful order, leading to the deaths of innocent civilians, including a war veteran.

Referring to the recent student protests in Delhi, where several protesters were reportedly injured by pellet gun fire, the leaders condemned what they termed the excessive use of force and said the Leh incident was even more serious.

They urged the Government of India to ensure justice for the victims, fix accountability, provide compensation, and withdraw all related cases.

The LAB also renewed its demand for the Centre to resume dialogue on Ladakh's pending issues without further delay.

LAB Chairman Chering Dorjay Lakruk said talks on Ladakh's concerns had been delayed for too long and appealed to the Centre to restart the dialogue.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk urged the Government to resolve the issues of compensation and withdrawal of cases within one month, warning that people may be forced to resume protests if their demands remain unaddressed.
