KV-1 Gandhi Nagar lifts Sub-Jr District Kabaddi C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 2: KV No-1 Gandhi Nagar beat Playway High School by 8 points in the boys section summit clash to lift the title trophy of the Sub Junior District Kabaddi Championship, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association, here.
In girls section, KV No-1 beat Govt. Girls Model School by 11 points in the title clash. Best players of the tournament were Amit Kumar in boys section and Kashifa in girls section.
Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest on the valedictory function, Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor Sports Govt of Lakshadweep was the guest of honour and Anil Gupta, President J&K Amateur Kabbadi Association presided over the function.
On the occasion, Mr Para assured to regularise Kabaddi Coach Ankush Gupta and also appoint Dhiraj Kumar as contractual coach for the promotion and development of Kabaddi in the state and also assured to release the pending salary of Kabaddi trainers Anuradha and Poonam Jamwal.
Secretary also announced 6 kabaddi mats, with 3 for Jammu and 3 for Kashmir province.
The chief guests also distributed the prizes among the winners in boys and girls sections, while Anil Gupta also presented a cash prize of Rs10,000 to winners, Rs 5,000 to runners-up and Rs 5000 to 3rd place winner.
The event was held under the supervision of Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, CEO of J&K Kabbadi Association, Surinder Mohan Gupta General Secretary, Sangram Singh Treasurer, Sandeep Singh Chairman Anti Dope Committee and Naveen Sharma (Observer of the tournament.
