Kupwara resident killed, another injured in accident

KATHUA, Aug 9: A Kupwara resident was killed, while one another was injured in accident near Tarnaha bridge, falling under the jurisdiction of Hiranagar Police Station.
As per police sources, a Xylo car bearing registration number JK09-7949 was on its way to Kupwara from Punjab, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it met with accident near Tarnaha bridge, resulting into injuries to two persons.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to SDH Hiranagar and later one of the injured was referred to GMCH Jammu, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Afzal, a resident of Kupwara, while the injured has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Kupwara.
After conducting autopsy at SDH Hiranagar, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Hiranagar Police Station and investigation started.
