KU cafeteria waiter assaulted by NSUI president

SRINAGAR, Dec 4: A waiter working in canteen outside the Humanities Department at the University of Kashmir (KU) was severely beaten up by the president and activists of National Students Union of India (NSUI) last evening.
Reports said Riyaz Ahmad, 23, was beaten up on last evening in canteen after he resisted misbehavior meted to him by the president NSUI, Junaid Ahmad Mir, and his friends. “On minor argument Junaid and his friends caught hold on Riyaz and hit him with a frying pan, which left him severely injured,” said one of the colleagues of Riyaz.
The boys left him injured and later he was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment, where doctors put him on ventilator. “He had received head injuries and was admitted to intensive care unit initially,” his colleague said.
