Krishna Bhan terms Instrument of Accession a legal document

JAMMU, Apr 18: Krishna Bhan, President Indo-European Kashmir Forum (IEKF), UK who was on a visit to Jammu participated in a well-attended function organized by Samajik Vikas Sanastha, (SVS) here today.
The function was attended by a galaxy of people from different walks of life, including writers, critics, columnists and organization functionary.
The speakers spoke about the socio- political problems and aspirations of the displaced community and complimented IEKF and Hindu Counsel UK for a supportive role.
Besides Krishna Bhan and guest of honors Swami, Kumar Jee, Dr. Romesh Raina former general secretary, AIKS, Kulddep Raina, President Samajik Vikas Sanasth and its general secretary and ex DAG Shiban Ji Bhan were on dais. The programme was initiated by Promilla Kaul Pandita.
Bhan spoke about the function of IEKF and Hindu Counsel. She talked about her organizational work in India and abroad. She laid emphasis on projecting the legal document of accession of J & K State with Union of India. She said that the Instrument of Accession was a legal document executed by Maharaja Hari Singh, ruler of the princely State of Jammu & Kashmir, under the provisions of the Indian Independence Act 1947. In this connection, she revealed that IEKF in association with the Hindu Counsel UK will commemorate the 70 years of the signing of “The Instrument of Accession” of the J & K State to India in the House of Commons on 25th October, 2017. This being sponsored by Marcus Jones, MP. There will be eminent UK speakers. She invited all the KP organizations to the historical event.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Kuldeep Raina, President, Samaj Vikas Sanastha. He spoke about the temple encroachments and renovation of certain temples in the Valley. Highlighting the role of SVS, he said various projects of welfare have been undertaken by it for the welfare of displaced Pandits and in this connection he referred to holding of charitable functions for the down trodden or victims of militancy children, organizing of medical camps etc. He said the Sanstha has constructed the ghat near Director Education Office Muthi while  opening of old age home is in pipeline with the support and assistance of some philanthrophists.
