JAMMU, Jan 17: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today said that it is unfortunate that the long standing demand of settling the displaced Pandits in Kashyap State within Valley after 26 long years of their forced exodus from Kashmir has not been conceded till date.
Addressing a meeting of KPC activists at Dehli today Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC said the community organizations should come forward and work unitedly in getting the long standing issues of displaced Pandits settled and also chalkout a plan  for accelerating their struggle for their rehabilitation by carving out a Kashyap State within Valley.
Kashmiri said this was the only solution to their long standing problem of Pandits. He said the settlement of Pandits in Kashyap State with free flow of Indian Constitution will fulfill the aspirations of exiled Pandits. He while strongly advocating for abrogation of Article 370 said this was the root cause of all ills in the State.
Kashmiri said that his organization and All Displaced KP United Front (ADKPUF) will observe the Holocaust day by wearing black badges and the two organizations in their respective meetings at Jammu and Delhi have appealed the people to switch off the lights in their residences and business establishments from 6-30pm to 7-30 pm on January 19 in protest against the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits who were hounded out from Valley in 1989-90 by terrorists supported by Pakistan.
Meanwhile ADKPUF which met here today under the leadership of its chairman D N Kissu has also made similar appeal to people of the community asking them to wear black badges on January 19 and switch off the lights of their houses and business establishments for one hour on the day in the evening.
Kissu said that it is unfortunate that even after 26 years the Pandits problems have not been settled by the successive Governments and no efforts were made for their everlasting and dignified rehabilitation in the Valley.
Kashmiri also said that his organization fully supports the ASKPC call of unity among various KP organizations and endorsed its move of observing holocaust day jointly.
