JAMMU, July 14: The Kashmiri Pandit (KP) Sabha today warned the Hurriyat against creating hurdles in the return process.
Welcoming the statement issued by Governor Satya pal Malik regarding the creation of a township for the rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits in the valley with full sense of security, honour and dignity, KK Khosa, president of KP Sabha said this most important issue had been relegated to the backburner for the last two years.
He also urged the mainstream leadership of Kashmir, including Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti to support that as they failed in their duty to bring about the return of the Pandits during their respective regimes.
Khosa warned the Hurriyat against creating hurdles in the return process and desist from engagement with lumpen elements having no representative authority in so far as the community is concerned. The Hurriyat leadership should also understand that Kashmiri Pandits are Indians first and then Kashmiris and are not expected to join in or endorse any of their antinational acts. They should also understand that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the nation and they will have to learn to coexist with the Pandits after their eventual return.
The Sabha also urged that the accommodation for the PM package employees should be put in place at the earliest to facilitate their settlement with comfort and security.
