Kohli reviews functioning of SRTC

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli today chaired a meeting regarding the functioning of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC).
The meeting was attended by the Managing Director SRTC, G.A Sofi, General Managers, Deputy General Managers of different wings of the Corporation and other senior officer and managers of the SRTC.
Mr. Kohli instructed all the officers to work with zeal, dedication and close coordination with their subordinates so that the Corporation can generate revenue and provide better services to the people of the State.
The Minister said that a new policy will be soon framed for the Corporation to improve its functioning and in future Government will also provide financial assistances for the purchase of new vehicles.
Regarding the outstandings, it was informed that Corporation has more than Rs 39 crore outstanding with different departments especially CA&PD, Div Com Office, Relief Commissioner, Estate Department and Procurement Department.
Mr. Kohli instructed the concerned officers to start the auction process for the old off routed vehicles so that the Corporation can purchase new vehicles.
