KARGIL, Sept 1: The Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) has called for peaceful participation and solidarity in the upcoming Kargil-Leh Padyatra, being undertaken by Socialist Party leader Sandeep Pandey along with KDA Co-Chairman Sajjad Kargili.
Addressing a press conference here today, KDA leaders said the Padyatra will commence from Kargil on September 10 and culminate in Leh on September 24. They said KDA extends its support to the initiative as the march would provide an opportunity to highlight issues and concerns affecting the people of Ladakh.
The Alliance leaders said the Padyatra would also help strengthen public engagement and dialogue on matters concerning the region and its people. While extending solidarity to the marchers, the KDA urged people to participate peacefully and maintain a spirit of unity throughout the course of the Padyatra.
