JAMMU, Dec 8: Giving a push to the development activities in Gandhi Nagar constituency, former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta, today kick started the upgradation work of lanes and drains in Jeevan Nagar area of Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
While addressing the gathering, Gupta said the developmental works shall be accelerated in coming days as many works have been approved and the newly elected councillors shall also contribute for the improvement of the basic amenities in the area.
“The party workers and elected councillors from the party should reach to the door steps of the people to aware them about the centrally sponsored schemes and gather the data of the problems being faced by the inhabitants so that the genuine demands are met in a phased manner,” Gupta added.
He also said the projects for the up-gradation of drainage system for the Gandhi Nagar Constituency areas such as Shastri Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Kalika Colony, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar, Chhanni Himmat and Bathindi area have been approved. “After the up-gradation of the approved drainage systems in the areas, people shall be relieved from the problem of water logging during the rainy season,” he further added.
On the occasion, people projected various developmental related demands which were mainly related to up gradation of bye lanes, water supply, sanitation, etc. Gupta assured to take up work of lanes and bye lanes which are in deplorable condition and needs up gradation.
The former Deputy CM said that his focus is on the development programs for making the Gandhi Nagar Constituency as a model constituency and uplifting the living standards of the people by providing all the basic amenities.
Gupta asked the JMC officials to complete the ongoing works in Jeevan Nagar at the earliest ensuring good quality.
