JAMMU, Feb 6: BJP State general secretary and MLA from Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Kavinder Gupta and BJP MLA from Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta today launched membership drive for Women Wing at Party Headquarter here. Speaking at the gathering, Kavinder Gupta claimed that the BJP Government at the Centre is deadly opposed to all kinds of corrupt practices and is fully committed to total transparency as far as public administration is concerned.
He said when the Congress party was in power, inflation was so high and the whole country languished in a precarious condition because the economy was in a very bad shape, he asserted. After the BJP Government led by Modi came to power, inflation was effectively put under check and the country’s economy started growing steadily. Following the footsteps of Vajpayee, incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Jan Dhan Yojana for economic upliftment of the country’s impoverished sections. He appealed to all the electorate of the State to enroll themselves in BJP so that a BJP Government can be established in the State.
He said that they have set a target of enrolling 50,000 electorates for women wing within the mega membership campaign. Rajesh Gupta speaking on the occasion said that “the poor and illiterate should also feel that we are also part and parcel of this party. The organization should be expanded in such a manner that it represents all and can fulfill the dreams of all.”
He further said that “for this, thousands of party workers are being trained in different states. These workers will go to the villages, railway platforms, bus stands and other crowded places, informing people about BJP’s ideology.” State president Women Wing, Priya Sethi said that initially people would be given primary membership. Thereafter, details of the members would be sent at the block-level for scrutiny for verifying credentials of the members and to check the entry of criminals and tainted persons in the party fold.
She said one can become an active member of the party after remaining primary member for two years. The Mahila Morcha of the BJP on this occasion also felicitated both the MLAs for their victory in Assembly elections.
