KATRA, Sept 4: A delegation of Hotels & Restaurants Association Katra, led by its president Rakesh Wazir, met Minister of State for Railways Rajan Gohain, here today and demanded more trains to Katra.
Executive Director Railway Board U Hazarika, Addl Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta, besides senior officials of Indian Railways, including Chief Administrative Officer Anurag Kumar Sachhan, Addl Divisional Manager A K Rana, Chief Engineer Sandeep Gupta, Sr DCM Roshan Singh, Station Superintendent Jugal Kishore Sharma were also present during the meeting.
The Association apprised the minister that Railways is the major facilitator of yatra to Mata Vaishno Devi ji and hence better Railway infrastructure, facilities and more connectivity of trains to Katra will boost the pilgrimage even more.
Rakesh Wazir explained that early connectivity of train from Katra to Srinagar, besides providing connectivity to Kashmir will prove to be major Tourism booster in the State and Vaishno Devi ji in particular because Katra being enroute will attract more pilgrims and Tourists to Vaishno Devi ji and more and more people will add Katra Vaishno Devi in their itinerary and thus prove to be major pilgrim booster.
Mr Gohain listened to the delegation patiently and assured that Railways was keen to complete the Railway line upto Srinagar at the earliest besides providing all major facilities at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station.
The delegation among others was comprised of the Association’s chairman Shyam Lal Kesar, Sr vice president Virender Kesar, vice presidents Ajay Kotwal, Nishant Sharma, Sumit Khajuria, secretary Mohit Dubey and others.
