Kashmiri poetic symposium held

JAMMU, Feb 12: A Kashmiri poetic symposium was organized at Radio Sharda 90.4 FM in which renowned Kashmiri poets participated. The programme was held in two sessions.
The poets who took part in the symposium included Wali Mohammad Assir Kishtwari, P N Shad, G M Tawheedi, Syed Ghulam Nabi Dilshad, Dilber Mohan , Shanaz Rashid, Ashok Gowher, A K Naz, Sarvar Bulbul, Afaq Aziz and Majeed Masroor.
The poets recited their latest poems during the symposium. They also stressed on organizing such programmes and involving the younger generation so that they remain linked to their language and roots.
Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Hangloo, president Pir Panchal and Director Radio Sharda said the poets have made a tremendous contribution to language and literature of Kashmir. He said Radio Sharda is all proud of the poets, artists, intellectuals and above all the community members who have adapted the Radio. The poets on the occasion also acknowledged the role of Radio Sharda in promoting language and culture in the Sate.
Shahnaz Rashid a prominent poet of Kashmir proposed the vote of thanks and said the Radio Sharda has given platform to writers and poets in promotion and preservation of language. Dr Afaq Aziz spoke on some historical concepts of Kashmir.
