SRINAGAR, July 25: Kashmir Maharaja Football Club defeated Food & Supplies XI by a solitary goal in the Premier Division match of the JKFA Annual League Football Tournament, here.
The high voltage match began with an aggressive note as both the teams tried to target each others’ goal using latest techniques which included man to man marking, creating gaps, wall passes and attacking the goal, which were highly applauded by the spectators.
In the first half none of the teams managed to score any goal, while in the second half, Zameem Ahmad of Kashmir Maharaja FC made an excellent shot at F&S XI goal, but the goalkeeper’s rebound paid a penalty for them and the ball rolled into the net, thus Kashmir Maharaja FC won the match by a solitary goal.
Earlier, in the 1st match of the Super Division played between Syed Tajuddin FC & Fortview FC, former defeated latter by three goals to two (3-2).
Meanwhile, in the Senior/ Junior Division matches played at Polo Ground West, Bemina FC defeated Hasanabad FC by two goals to nil (2-0), while in the second match, Green Valley FC defeated Rangrath Warriors FC by three goals to one (3-1) and in the last match, Qamarwari FC defeated Young Mohammedan FC Rainawari by four goals to nil.
The tournament is being organized by District Football Association Srinagar, Medical Partner Rahim Green & Football Sponsor Sports International (VECTOR).
