Kargil, May 10: Chairman/ Chief Executive Counsilor, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today visited Hambutingla Pass accompanied by Chief Engineer Vijayak Brigadier Amit Singh Sohal and Commanding Officer, Raju Lohani to start constructionof 4.20 Km Barche-Choo-Lahlung road near Hambutingla pass to avoid shadow face and snow avalanche prone of the road alignment and ensure that work is executed from Barche-Choo Nallah.
Further resurfacing for 15.94 km length of the road, rehabilitation of damaged pavement / surfacing works between km 0.00 to 49.676 (full stretch) of road, black topping of 27 kms, and 4 kms on Kargil – Batalik road was also sanctioned and work will be executed ruing the current year on the road.
The Chief Engineer assured the Chairman/ CEC LAHDC Kargil that besides upgrading the road, he will recommended Kargil -Batalik- Khaltse to be declared as National Highway.
He further said that from this year, they will also get special funds for clearance of snow for this road during winter months. Khan lauded the Chief Engineer JIJAYAK, for taking interest in strengthening the road in the interest of general public living on the Line of Control.
