Kajol, Priyanka hail Pak’s move to remove ban on Indian films

MUMBAI : Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kajol have welcomed Pakistani cinema owners’ decision to end the long ban on Bollywood films.
Cinema owners in the neighbouring country will allow screenings of Indian films again, months after ban was imposed in the aftermath of Uri attacks in September.
Happy with the development, Priyanka said, “Art should go across the world. I have always believed that. So, I am glad about it.”
Kajol added that she is happy that it is a great sign for the film industry.
“Anything where the film industry gets a brick, where the film industry gets a positive sign etc, I am all for the film industry,” she said.
Anil also expressed his happiness over the decision. “I am very happy about it, it is a great news,” the veteran said.
They were speaking at the Sansui Colors Stardust awards last night.
The ban came after there was a demand on the boycott of Pakistani artists from Indian films. Pakistani cinema owners said that this step was a move towards restoring peace between the two nations.
They also admitted that financial concerns also motivated the decision as cinema owners suffered losses. (AGENCIES)
