JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists led by its president Sunil Dimple staged a demonstration at New Plots today and took out the funeral procession of the Government for power and water crisis in the area.
With banners and flags in their hands the protestors raised slogans against Power Development Department (PDD) and accused it of 10 to 15 hour power cuts in Jammu City in general and West Assembly Constituency in particular.
The demonstrators also broke the pitchers as a mark of protest against the water crisis. They sought immediate intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also holding the portfolio of power and urged him to look into the issue immediately.
Expressing grave concern over the increasing power and water crisis in Jammu, Dimple said there is no Government worth name in Jammu and PDD has no reply for the increasing power curtailments.
