NEW DELHI, July 18: Visiting Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop today held bilateral talks with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj after which she signed the framework agreement for her country’s entry into the International Solar Alliance.
The discussion between the two Ministers covered a wide range of bilateral relations, including Defence, Security and Regional situation.
Ms Bishop condemned the attack on Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir and both the Minister expressed the two countries’ resolve to fight terrorism, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay tweeted.
The talks were held under Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue.
The Australian Foreign Minister also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ”to follow up on the very successful meeting with Prime Minister Turnbull earlier this year,” as the Australian High Commissioner Harinder Sidhu said here.
Earlier in the day, she also met HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and Defence and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. (UNI)
