JU storms into finals; thrashes SKUAST by 9 wkts

SRINAGAR, Sept 11: Thrashing SKUAST Kashmir team in an easy contest by 9 wickets in the semifinals, University of Jammu Employees Cricket team sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing All India Vice Chancellors’ T20 Cup, here today.
Batting first, SKUAST Kashmir scored 114 runs in 20 overs.
Avtar and Sandeep Bakshi claimed two wickets each whereas Rajesh Salhotra and Sumeet bagged one wicket each. In reply, Jammu University chased the target in 19 overs.
Deepak scored unbeaten 47 runs, Sumit scored 30 runs and Rajesh Salhotra, captain JU played a sensible innings of unbeaten 27 runs. Deepak was declared as the man of the match.
Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, Jammu University congratulated the team for the victory.
Dr Daud Iqbal, Director Sports and Physical Education, JU also congratulated the team for this achievement.
