JU outplays JKP XI in a close contest by 8 runs

JAMMU, Oct 6: Jammu University (JU) Employees cricket team outplayed JKP XI in an exciting contest by 8 runs at University ground, here today.
JU skipper Rajesh Salhotra won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, JU made 140 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Niranjan Singh scored magnificent 73 runs, while Salhotra and Vishal Sudan contributed 21 and 20 runs to the total respectively.
In reply, JKP XI managed to score 132 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 8 runs. JU bowlers held their nerves high when it mattered the most in the pressure situation and registered a thrilling win.
Vice Chancellor JU, Prof Manoj Dhar; Director Sports and Physical Education, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba and Manager, JU Employees cricket team, Sham Lal Sharma lauded the efforts of the team for this win.
