JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has urged the Government to take effective steps to tackle the increasing traffic problem in the City of Temples.
In a meeting of the party held here today under the chairmanship of Prof Virender Gupta, the speakers discussed the problem of traffic congestion, parking facilities in Jammu city and broadening of the roads linking Jammu city.
The meeting resolved that without widening of roads, proper parking facilities and construction of flyovers, the traffic problem cannot be settled.
Therefore, all the speakers urged the Government to start work on various projects of widening of roads including Jewel Chowk to Talab Tillo, Subhash Nagar to Patoli, New Plot to Janipur, etc.
The meeting also stressed for opening of road between old Ware House to Satwari and construction of fly overs from Bikram Chowk to Satwari, Ambphala to Janipur, etc besides providing proper parking facilities in Jammu city.
The Government Offices, Banks, Insurance Agencies offices located on the roadside having no parking facilities were required to be shifted, the meeting said.
JSM also called upon the Government to introduce Metros between Samba and Akhnoor.
