3rd Edition of Amritsar Half Marathon

JAMMU, Apr 21: Jammu Runners Group (JRG) blossomed again as it won a good number of medals including gold, one siver and a galaxy of finisher medals in the 3rd Edition of Amritsar Half Marathon held on the other day.
Clocking a timing of 1:51:11 hours, Sham Suri bagged gold in 50-60 years men’s category, while Pawan Sharma also clinched gold in 50-60 years women’s category by clocking a timing 2:21:27 hours. Balwinder Singh claimed a silver medal in the age category of 18 to 30 years by finishing the race in 1:19:06 hours.
Meanwhile, veteran of many battles, JRG’s Rajesh Padha was the Ambassador for Amritsar Half Marathon and pacer of two hours for the same.
Those who won finisher medals included Sindhu Sharma (1:41:59), Abhishake (1:45:42), Sandeep Singh (1:56:50), Venugopal (2:17:15), Kritika (2:32:43) and Shalinder (2:42:38).
Apart from the above winners, Himmat Sharma finished 10 k race in 1:16 hours, while Bhamidi Jahnavi, Ruderanka Gupta and Ruderaksh Gupta participated in 3 k race and Kushal Bharadwaj participated in 1K event.
It is pertinent to mention here that the event saw a participation of around 5000 runners drawn from a large number of states and cities across the county.
