JMC seals premises for violation

JAMMU, June 27:  Jammu Municipal Corporation today sealed a building premises in Gandhi Nagar area of city outskirts for alleged violation of land use.
Under guidance from KL Khajuria, Commissioner, JMC and Kapil Sharma, Joint Commissioner (Administr-ation), a team of enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer sealed the premises of the building at H No1 at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu under Section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
The building belongs to one Des Raj, son of Paras Ram. The premises was sealed as the said person started the interior work to open the commercial activity in violation of the land use of the area from residential to commercial one.
Besides this, the team while intensifying the drive against the use of polythene carry bags, inspected various shops, vendors and other outlets in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Green Belt area and  seized about 15 kgs of polythene bags. An amount of Rs 7200 as compounding fee were charged from the defaulters on spot.
