JMC Commissioner meets CCI office bearers

JAMMU, May 13: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Soujanya Sharma along with Assistant Commissioner (AC), Revenue, Shubha Mehta visited house of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), interacted with the office bearers, and listened to issues raised by them.
At the outset of the meeting, president CCI, Rakesh Gupta along with senior vice-president, Sham Langer, welcomed the Commissioner JMC and AC Revenue by presenting bouquets.
While speaking on the occasion, Arun Gupta, Secretary General, CCI, highlighted various issues problems pertaining to different areas of Jammu city. The main issues highlighted were identification of parking space, installation of street lights/solar lights, provision of Sulabh toilets complexes, provision of water coolers and in time garbage lifting from different bazaars.
He also stressed for exemption of obtaining licenses for the labours using Reheries for carrying goods of different shopkeepers. He further apprised the Commissioner that the shops of the Municipal Market below Gumat who are tenants of JMC are facing lot of inconvenience and loss due to leakage of their roof-tops during rainy days. The Commissioner JMC was also requested to take steps for the development of commercial spaces in Jammu city.
CCI president also highlighted various problems being faced by the people of Jammu. He also stressed for developing parks, amusement parks, artificial lake and Gandola etc. He further stressed for removal of encroachment in Shiv Market Railway Station and other areas. He also demanded that high mast lights in Ware House and other areas should be installed and the damaged drains be reconstructed immediately.
Commissioner JMC assured the Chamber that he will try his level best to address all the issues raised in the meeting. He also pointed out that in near future Jammu will get 3-4 parking slots and the garbage picking will be made in the early hour of the morning for which JMC has already purchased more garbage picking Vans.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Sham Lal Langer, who also stressed for provision of flyovers and Metro Rail.
