JAMMU, June 13: The JK UT Under-7 and Under-9 Boys and Girls Chess Championship concluded in Jammu with young players displaying impressive talent and competitive spirit.

In the Under-9 Boys category, Rushank Sharma clinched the gold medal, while Manveer Singh secured silver and Ridhaan Sharma won bronze. In the Under-7 Boys category, Avyan Gupta claimed gold, Ridhaan Sharma took silver and Dhairya Sharma bagged bronze.

Among the girls, Raesha Thothla won gold in the Under-9 category, followed by Pavia Gupta with silver and Aavya Gupta with bronze. In the Under-7 Girls section, Pavika Gupta secured gold, Aavya Gupta won silver and Evisha Kharyal earned bronze.

The championship was organized by the All J&K Chess Association under the banner of the J&K Sports Council. Arvindu served as the Chief Arbiter of the event and oversaw the smooth conduct of the competition.

The top two players from each category have been selected to represent the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the forthcoming National Chess Championship.
