JKTF alleges no progress on issues of SSA/RMSA teachers

JAMMU, July 3: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held under the chairmanship of JKTF State Chairman, Ganesh Khajuria for highlighting the grievances of teaching cadre and more particularly of SSA/RMSA (now SAMAGRA).
The meet observed that since the inclusion of SSA/RMSA Teachers into State Budget, much has been talked but very little was done by the Government in favour of Head Teachers. As is known that the salary for the past four months is still pending and the suffering Head Teachers are left high and dry though they have been appointed through the SSRB before the launching of the erstwhile SSA and RMSA schemes, the meet explained adding that nothing concrete has been initiated either by the Governor’s Administration or at the Directorate level.
Further, the Forum said, the orders of the ‘Teachers Grade II’ are awaited till date and the authorities are dumbfounded and speechless on the issue. “The fate of these Teachers also hangs in balance with no relief in sight so far. The cases of `undergraduate RReTs’ are also hanging in balance and moreover the concerned CEOs are not entertaining the `enhanced qualifications’ of these undergraduate RReTs for the reasons best known to them,” the meet said and added that laying stress on academic excellence is a great initiative but other administrative issues are equally important.
Ganesh Khajuria appealed to the Governor’s administration, Commissioner Secretary School Education, Director School Education Jammu and Director School Education Kashmir to resolve the chronic issue of Head Teachers by 5th July 2019 and prove the competence of their office. “Otherwise, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum will have no option other than to sit on protest at Press Club Jammu on 6th July 2019 at 10 am,” he warned.
Those who attended the meeting, included Yograj Slathia, S Surat Singh Toofani, Rajinder Gupta, Darshan Sharma, S Ravinder Singh, Gopal Singh, Mohd Iqbal, Shankar Singh, Kuldeep Verma, Sham Badyal, P D Singh, Gautam Singh, Narinder Chib, Bua Ditta, Parveen Sharma and others.
