JKRCEA’s rally postponed due to elections

JAMMU, Sept 22: Due to the announcement of Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the State, Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) has postponed its protest rally which was scheduled for September 29.
This was informed by Bodh Raj Bhagat, President, socio-religious wing of JKRCEA in a press conference here today.
Talking to reporters Bhagat said that the rally was planned to express resentment against alleged silence of State Government over the issue of restoration of reservation in promotions.
He flayed the State Government for not implementing the apex court’s ruling given on May 15 and June 6 wherein the court had directed the Union of India to go ahead with reservation in promotions.
JKRCEA has also threatened that if the issue is not solved within 15 days then the people of all reserved categories shall launch a State-wide protest.
M.R Bangotra, Mohinder Bhagat, B.R Banalia and others were also present in the press conference.
