JKP will launch SOS App for women safety: Rana

JAMMU, Aug 22: J&K Police is launching new Hi-Tech Dial-100 system, which will replace the earlier manual Dial-100 system.
This was stated by IGP Jammu Danish Rana, while reviewing the New Hi-Tech Dial-100 system, to be launched in the first week of September at PCR Jammu.
Through New Dial-100 System, the distress callers will be greeted by trained operators at the PCR and will provide help or assistance accordingly, IGP said, adding that J&K Police has adopted the new technology for increasing the performance and efficiency of the department.
He further stated that JKP will also launch SOS App for women safety for android based smart phones.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP PCR Jammu accompanied with Yasser Kazami, CEO, Myasa Network Solutions–J&K Premier System Integration Company and Engineers of the company briefed about the functioning of advanced Dial-100 system which is built with latest technology with fully computerized transmission mechanism to provide 24×7 services to the public in a digital manner.
“In emergent situations the PCR Jammu will be able to dispatch the nearest PCR Vans for help or assistance, at just the click of button. The system is completely integrated with Jammu City high resolutions map and GPS on PCR Vans which helps them to reach at the place of incident within the shortest period of time”, they added.
Meanwhile, JKP will also launch an SOS App for women safety for android based smart phones. The App turns a user’s Smart phone into a discreet personal safety device for use during emergency. A call of service to Police can be triggered by simply activating the SOS button like icon on cell phone.
In SOS App one will able to upload video of 10 seconds, Send SOS alerts to friends and relatives, enable real time trace and track through GPS, trigger Police to assist people in emergency. The App will be available free from Google Play Store. The App allows user to register the details along with contacts during installation.
