JAMMU, Apr 3: J&K Motor Transport Companies Association (JKMTCA) shall thwart all attempts to destabilize the transport business by those whose past record has been responsible for destroying the foundation of a robust industry like transport.
This was stated by Gajan Singh Khajuria, president of JKMTCA Jammu, while addressing a press conference. He said that ever since Basant Rath has taken over as Inspector General, Traffic, the public in general and the transport Industry in particular is very happy, as due to personal efforts of Basant Rath, the traffic management system has undergone a revolutionary change.
Gajan Singh criticized those persons who for their vested interests are threatening to disrupt the transport in coming days by showing Basanth Rath as a villain. He said that these persons have been running a ‘mafia’ on the name of transport industry and they stand exposed badly before the common public.
Surinder Singh Kala, chairman of the association, said that earlier there was mess and chaos created by the vested interests in the affairs of transport industry but due to the efforts of Basant Rath, there is a ray of hope that the transport management system will improve with every passing day.
Kala lambasted those who are cheating the common transporters by leveling unscrupulous and baseless allegations to defame a person like Basant Rath, whose integrity is unimpeachable. He further said that all those elements who are threatening Rath with a strike are known enemies of the transport Industry and their ‘mafia’ designs will not be allowed to succeed.
Nanak Singh, patron, JKMTCA, said that the transport management system is getting better day by day under the watchful eyes of Basant Rath and the common people of the State are in a celebratory mood. He complimented Rath for his dedicated efforts and assured all support to him.
Kulwant Singh (secretary), Zeenat Khan, Kulwant Singh, Shiv Pal, Ravinder Singh, Kultar Singh, Surjeet Singh, Kartar Chand Naidu and Manjeet Singh were also present in the press conference.
