JKMEF discusses burning demands, problems

JAMMU, July 9: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation discussed burning demands and problems of the employees of Health Department in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its State president Sushil Sudan.
The speakers said that DPC should be cleared at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of Executive Order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (Recruitment Rules) is modified.
“Further, all the promotions should be made strictly in accordance to the seniority, Departmental Promotions (DPC) of all cadres which is supposed to be done twice in a year but it is not done even after the lapse of two years,” they asserted.
Regarding the demands of regular salary of the Female Multipurpose Health Workers accepted by K Vijay Kumar, Advisor to Governor, the speakers said that till date that matter has not been resolved permanently. They also demanded upgradation of the posts of Pharmacists as Senior Pharmacist, Supervisor Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, Block Pharmacy Officers and District Pharmacy Officer.
Stating that ambulances of Health Department are not having Insurance certificate and Registration certificate, they asked the higher authorities to project the matter with Government to release the funds for Insurance and Registration of ambulances of Health Department.
Other demands discussed in the meeting were amendment of SRO 20 dated 24-02-1992 and its implementation, over time allowance to all such employees who are performing 12 hours night duty, creation of posts of Ophthalmic Technicians at PHC levels in all Blocks and enhancement of pay scale of Junior Staff Nurses from 4000-6000 to 5000-8000 (pre revised).
