JKLTF apprises Priya Sethi of teachers’ grievances

JAMMU, Apr 2: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation called on the Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi and discussed with her various demands and issues of the teaching fraternity.
The deputation, led by JKLTF president Mohan Singh, chairman Bhushan S Verma and general secretary Maheshwar Prasad highlighted the demands, which include adjustment of all promoted Masters and Lecturers, filling up of vacant posts of all cadre in the Education Department, clearance of pendency under Mid-Day meal, leave encashment for teaching fraternity, Selection Grade for Under Graduate teachers and transfer of all Masters and Lecturers, who are working in far-flung areas for the last four to eight years, to their home district.
Expressing serious concern over unprecedented delay in release of salary of teachers working under RMSA and SSA, the Federation lamented that the Education authorities were only pointing towards deficiencies of teachers, who are in-fact not responsible for the present state of affairs in the department. All the irregularities were done by the previous regime as teachers could not order their own deployment, they explained.
The deputation comprised of Manjeet Singh, Gopal Dass, Rattan Lal, Om Parkash, Kuldeep Raj, Kuldeep Singh, Kulbushan Sharma, Dr Vijay Kumar, Bodh Raj, Madan Singh, Neeraj, Arun Sharma, Narinder Bakshi, Ravinder Verma, Prithvi Raj, Varinder Sharma and others.
