JAMMU, June 13: As a part of its series of programs titled ‘Ek Shaksiyat Se Mulaqaat’ to honour the poets and writers of Chenab Valley, Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) today organized a program at Doda in which a renowned poet and writer of
Chenab region, Saidullah Shaad Faridabadi was honored by the Academy.
The program was presided over by Prof Zahir Abass Hashmi, Principal, Government Degree College Doda. The renowned writer, Farid Ahmed Faridi was also present in the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Hashmi lauded the efforts of Cultural Academy Sub-office Doda for organizing such a programme from time to time. He termed the writers and artists as the treasure of any society and stressed open the Academy for organizing more programmes of this nature.
While welcoming the gathering, Sala-ud-Din, cultural officer, Sub-office Doda, highlighted the contribution of Shaad Farid Abadi towards the literature in the region.
Among others present on the occasion were Mohd Ishaq Zargar, Ghulam Hassan Pampori, Haq Nawaz Nehru, Shoket Ali Mughal, Ishtiq Ahmed Dev and Mehboob Hassan Kripak.
