JKAACL, Adbi Kunj release Talib Kashmiri’s books

JAMMU, Apr 3: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) in association with Adbi Kunj, Jammu, today organized a function here at KL Saigal Hall in connection with the release of three books viz. “The Wilting Flower”, “Aakhri Khwaahish” and “Bara’ Gat’saan Posh”, written by well-known fiction writer Talib Kashmiri.
The function was presided over by Prof Zahoor-ul-Din, former Head, Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, while SS Anand Lehar, an eminent Urdu writer and Advocate Supreme Court/ J&K High Court, was the chief guest.
Dr Aziz Hajni, an acclaimed authority on Kashmiri literature and secretary, JKAACL, was also present on the occasion. The guests of honor included prominent Urdu and Kashmiri writer, Aseer Kishtwari.
Aseer Kishtwari read out the keynote paper on Urdu novel and Kashmiri short story book. Detailed papers were read on all the three books by highly acclaimed writers and eminent literary commentators like Brij Nath Betab, Ushaq Kishtwari, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina and Maharaj Krishen, highlighting various literary and other aspects of the fiction work in all the three books released today.
In his welcome address, Dr Hajni said that it was a moment of great pride and pleasure for the Academy to hold this function in association with Adbi Kunj, Jammu. Later, at the instance of the audience, Talib Kashmiri read a short story titled “Mitti Ki Qeemat”.
Anand Lehar in his address said that Talib Kashmiri has not only emerged as a bright star on the horizon of contemporary literature in various languages commonly used in the State, but also as a writer who through his creative writings wants healthy changes in the existing social systems in which genuine aspirations of common man particularly the deprived and neglected ones are taken care of properly.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Sham Talib, president, Adbi Kunj while vote of thanks was presented by Aarsh Om Dalmotra, chairman, Adbi Kunj.
