JAMMU, Aug 30: Ten players of Jammu and Kashmir won medals in the recently concluded 3rd National Karate Championship, organised by the Haryana Sports Karate Association at Kurukshetra from August 26 to 28.
In the championship nearly 900 students from the 22 States including Union Territories participated. The J&K team was accompanied by Sensei Vikas Dhar Black Belt 4th Dan and team manager Surjeet Dogra Black Belt 1st Dan under the supervision of Sensei Amit Singh Black Belt 4th Dan World Karate Federation.
Shivaay Hangloo secured Gold in 84 kg in under-16 category, while Gurpreet Singh won Gold in senior individual Kata, Amit Kumar clinched Gold in 10 & 11 years in 27 kg, Kavish Singh won Gold in 12 & 13 year in 35 kg, Rajveer Singh secured Gold in 14 and 15 year in 63 kg, Rohit Bhagat (Gold) in 16 &17 years in 50kg, Tanmay Gupta (Silver) in 18 years in 60kg, Anat Dar Waguzari (Silver) in 14 &15 years in plus 75 kg, Laksh Bhat (Bronze) in 16 &17 years in plus 75kg and Dishan Dogra (Bronze) in 16 &17 year in 60kg.
