JAMMU, Jan 28: Terming SRO-124 as discriminatory, J&K Phd Holders Association appealed the Governor NN Vohra for amendment in this SRO at an earliest.
Addressing the media persons, president of the Association, Hamid Iqbal Taq said that SRO-124 has killed the aspirations of more than 6000 Phd degree holders of the State.
He said the SRO should either be amended to include the aspirations of of PhD degree holders registered prior to July 2009 or should be prospective and scholars awarded or registered prior to coming into force of this SRO should remain exempted.
The Association said that PSC invited application for the post of Assistant Professor in various disciplines vide Notification No: 09-PSC (DR-P)of 2013 dated 23.05.2013 and then the requisition for above mentioned posts was widrawn by the Higher Education Department vide their letter no: HE-SWP No.1233/2013/115 dated 16.05.2014, adding the eligibility for this notification was prescribed as NET/SLET or PhD.
The members further said that the new advertisement was published vide order no 12-PSC (DR-P)of 2014 dated 29-05-2014, however, the selection process for this notification was to be conducted as per SRO-124 DATED 21-04-2014 read with Govt order No. 252 HE Of 2012 dated 30.05.2012.
