JAMMU, Nov 30: Senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla flayed the alleged propaganda launched by BJP leadership on making massive developments in J&K and said that reality is that only public miseries and chaos were created during the last six years in J&K.
Addressing public gatherings at Channi, Nanak and other places, in favour of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kour contesting DDC elections from Phalain Mandal, Bhalla said that BJP is trying to divert the attention of public from basic issues.
He further said that development works sanctioned by previous Government were put on halt by BJP led regime with no reasons.
“People of J&K will never forgive BJP for killing their aspirations,” the Congress leader maintained appealing people to defeat the designs of BJP.
He expressed confidence that people in J&K will ensure the victory of Congress candidates with a thumping majority.
Bhalla said that Congress will not be cowed down by false propaganda unleashed by BJP as so far BJP led Government has only strengthened the corporate houses ignoring the poor and downtrodden sections of the country.
“Since BJP assumed power, the situation in J&K, which had improved to a largest extent due to efforts and friendly approach of UPA Government, started worsening and the peace initiative started earlier suffered immensely,” the Congress leader claimed. “The repeal of Article 370 now allows the land to be transferred to non-state subjects, denying the residents of J&K of their most precious rights and their (BJP’s) claim of protection of rights in agricultural land is a mere eyewash,” Bhalla had said.
He claimed that BJP is a party of rich people and industrialists and the neglected section of society should remember contributions of Congress in various welfare schemes for the neglected classes.
Those present on the occasion were block Congress presidents—Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma and Sodhagar Singh Saini; Sarpanch, Kashmir Singh; Panchs—Pinky Sudan, Subash Chander, Baryam Dass, Som Dutt Raj Kumar and Darshan Lal; Ravinder Singh Raju, Vishal Charak, Sunil Slathia, Om Parkash Bhagat, Pawan Bhagat, Kuldeep Singh, Baldev Singh Wazir and others.
