J&K Housing Board employees apprise Minister of demands

JAMMU, Feb 21: A deputation of All J&K Housing Board Employees Association (J&K) called on the Minister for Housing Raman Bhalla and apprised him of their burning demands.
The deputation, led by Mohd Farooq and Suman Sharma, State president and secretary general, respectively of the Association, submitted a memorandum of demands to the Minister seeking regularization of daily rated workers who have been working in the Housing Board for the last more than seventeen years.
The memorandum explains that the regularization of these workers has already been agreed upon by three-member team, constituted by then Chairman of the Board Deputy Chief Minister following 24- day strike.
Other demands highlighted in the memorandum, include introduction of pension and Provident Fund Scheme in the J&K Housing Board on the analogy of other sister organizations like JDA, SDA, Municipality etc, release of revised grades and non abolition of Housing Board posts.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to take up their demands with concerned subordinate for the early solution.
